We visit to measure your exact staircase, confirm what will fit and demonstrate the lift options — often the same day for genuinely urgent cases.
For most straight staircases with a stocked reconditioned lift — fitted, safety-tested, batteries checked and demonstrated with the user in one 2–4 hour visit.

Can you really fit a stairlift by tomorrow?
For most straight staircases with a stocked reconditioned lift, yes — we aim to fit the next working day. Call as soon as you have a discharge date (even a provisional one) and we will tell you honestly what is possible.
What if my staircase is curved?
Curved stairlifts need a custom rail made for your exact staircase — that takes 2–4 weeks and cannot be rushed safely. If the situation is urgent and the staircase has any straight sections, we will talk you through interim options.
Do I need a referral from the hospital or a GP?
No. Families discharging from any hospital can call us directly. No referral, no waiting list, no third party.
How much does urgent installation cost?
The same fixed prices as any other installation — reconditioned Acorn/Brooks 130 £1,100, 130 T700 £1,300, reconditioned Stannah 260 curved from £3,200. See our 2026 cost guide.
Do you charge extra for urgency?
No. There is no rush premium and no call-out fee. The written quote is the same fixed price it would be with a fortnight of notice.
How long does the installation itself take?
