Everything we buy

What Your Stairlift Is Worth To Us

We buy every mainstream stairlift model. T700 pays the most because supply is tight. Here is the honest 2026 rate card.

Acorn / Brooks 130 T700

Our top priority. Current-generation lift (fitted 2020 onwards), both brands identical since Acorn bought Brooks in 2016. £300 cash working, £150 non-working. See our Acorn T700 and Brooks T700 pages for detail.

Classic Acorn / Brooks 130

The pre-2020 generation. Still fully reconditionable, still in demand — just at the older model rate. £200 cash working, £100–£150 non-working. See our generic Acorn buy-back page.

Stannah 260 curved

The most valuable used lift on the market. Carriage reconditions to new-build quality. Working £400–£800 depending on age and rail length. Phone for a case-by-case quote — a photo of the chair and the staircase helps.

Older models & non-working lifts

Acorn 120, Stannah Starla, Minivator, Bison. Mostly collection-only — we offer free removal and sometimes a small goodwill payment. Saves you a skip hire and a weekend of disassembly.

How It Works

Three Steps From Call To Cash

1
Phone Chris with a photo

Take a photo of the chair including (for Acorn/Brooks) the underside sticker that identifies the model. Call 0151 314 4884 and text the photo. 10-minute call, instant quote.

2
Agree a collection date

Usually 3–5 days from the call, often same-day if urgent (bereavement, house move, hospital discharge). We work around your schedule.

3
Van arrives, cash in hand

Chris or an engineer arrives, confirms the chair matches the photo, hands over the cash, removes the lift and the rail. Done in 15 minutes. Signed receipt.

Transparent Pricing

Why We Pay What We Pay

We are open about how the maths works because sellers deserve the context, and because an honest explanation beats a lowball script every time.

Every T700 we buy becomes a reconditioned install at another local family’s house. Workshop time, new batteries, replacement parts, delivery, two engineers for fitting day, 18-month warranty. We fit the reconditioned T700 for £1,300 all-in. Costs eat most of that; the margin left over is what pays for the van, the workshop and Chris’s wages.

That is why we can pay £300 for your T700 and still make the maths work on reconditioning. It is also why we cannot pay £500 or £800 — the margin isn’t there once you factor in the workshop cost. Any dealer offering more than £300 for a working T700 is probably planning to drop the price on collection day.

The honest comparison: scrap pays £0–£20. Facebook Marketplace might get you £300 but costs 2–6 weeks of hassle and no-shows. We pay £300, cash on the day, zero chase. For most sellers it is the easier call.

Everything You Want To Know

Selling Your Stairlift — Full FAQs

Any mainstream UK model. Acorn / Brooks 130 T700 (£300), classic 130 (£200), Stannah 260 curved (£400–£800), Stannah 420 straight (£100–£150), older models collection-only with a small goodwill payment. We also take non-working lifts for parts. If in doubt, phone and send a photo — Chris quotes within 10 minutes.

Standard turnaround is 3–5 working days from your first call. Same-day or next-day collection is possible in genuine urgency — bereavement, house completion, hospital discharge requiring the stairs clear for a care package. Chris will try to fit urgent collections around existing jobs.

Yes — core coverage is Liverpool, Wirral, Sefton and Knowsley, with regular runs to St Helens, Widnes and surrounding areas. Chester, Warrington and further afield we discuss case-by-case — may be chargeable depending on distance and the lift’s resale value.

Depends on what has failed. A dead battery is not a problem — we replace batteries anyway. A dead motor, snapped drive belt, or burned-out circuit board is more serious: a non-working T700 is still worth £150, a non-working classic 130 is £100–£150. If parts are missing or the lift is damaged, we usually offer free removal plus a small goodwill payment.

Yes, always. On straight lifts the rail cuts down for the next install. On curved lifts the custom rail cannot usually be reused but we still take it — your staircase goes back to exactly how it was before fitting.

Possibly, but weigh the hassle. Online you need to list it, field 20 messages from people who vanish, meet strangers, arrange collection (buyer’s responsibility, but your doorway and your weekend), and risk no-shows. Our £300 is cash, same day, zero chase. People sometimes get £300 on marketplaces, but it typically takes 2–6 weeks and a lot of ignored calls. Your call. We also wrote a full guide to selling a stairlift in the UK if you want to think it through properly first.

Someone needs to be at the property to let us in and sign a short receipt. It does not need to be the owner — a family member, neighbour, solicitor, or estate agent is fine. We can also meet an executor at a probate property outside normal hours by arrangement.

Yes — we handle a lot of these and understand it is often not a convenient time. We can collect at short notice, meet executors or solicitors, and provide a signed receipt for the estate. If the house is being sold and you need the lift cleared by a specific date, let Chris know and we will plan around the completion.

Yes, up until the day of collection. Many sellers call to arrange collection a few weeks ahead because they are moving to a bungalow or into care — the lift stays in daily use right up until the day. We just need a photo now and a date later.

Yes if you want one. Chris can text or email a short confirmation of the agreed price before collection day so you have it in writing. We don’t require a signed quote — a verbal agreement is enough — but written is yours for the asking.
