Brooks · Same Company As Acorn Since 2016 · Same £250 Cash Offer
Sell Your Brooks 130 T700 Stairlift — £250 Cash, Same-Day Collection
A.C. Stairlifts is a family-run firm in Bootle, Liverpool paying £250 cash for working Brooks 130 T700 stairlifts across Merseyside. If you own a Brooks T700, you own the current-generation lift that Acorn now sells — the two brands merged in 2016 and the lift is physically identical. We recondition T700s for new local families, which is why we pay fair cash prices instead of scrap value.
Common question
Is Brooks the Same as Acorn? Yes — Here's Why That Matters
Brooks Stairlifts and Acorn Stairlifts have been the same company since 2016, when Acorn acquired the Brooks business. The Brooks 130 T700 and the Acorn 130 T700 are the same physical lift — same mechanism, same motor, same batteries, same rail, built in the same factory. The only difference is the badge on the chair.
That means your Brooks T700 has exactly the same reconditioning value as an Acorn T700. Same £250 cash offer, same process, same next-family install destination. Branding does not change the price.
Chair branded Acorn? Nothing changes — see our Acorn T700 page or just call either way. Same quote, same offer.
Is Mine a T700?
How To Tell If You Have A Brooks 130 T700
The T700 looks very similar to the earlier classic Brooks lift. Here are the quick checks — starting with the sticker underneath. If yours turns out to be the older model we still buy — see our generic Brooks buy-back page for the classic rate.
The T700 model marking is not on the arm — it is on a sticker fixed to the underside of the carriage (the main body of the chair, below the seat). Tip the seat up or crouch down and look under the base. The sticker should clearly say “T700”. If there is no T700 on the sticker you probably have the earlier classic Brooks — see our generic Brooks buy-back page instead.
T700 arm has a paddle-style directional control, swivels for easy transfer, fold-flat seat and footrest. Older Brooks lifts use rocker switches.
The T700 generation launched around 2020 under both Brooks and Acorn badging. Any Brooks lift fitted from 2020 is almost certainly a T700.
Snap a photo of the chair and the underside sticker, text it to Chris on 0151 314 4884. We confirm the model and quote within 10 minutes. No obligation.

What Your Brooks 130 T700 is Actually Worth in 2026
The T700 holds its value because dealers like us need stock. Scrap merchants pay £0–£20. Online marketplaces mean hassle, no-shows, and tyre-kickers. Here is what we pay for your Brooks T700 — cash, on the day, no mucking about.
Honest promise: we do not quote £300 to get your attention then drop the price on collection. The number Chris quotes on the phone is the number you receive. Written if you want it.

Chris or an engineer arrives, confirms the chair matches the photo, hands over the cash, removes the lift and the rail. Done in 15 minutes. You get a signed receipt.

Brooks 130 T700 Buy-Back FAQs
Is Brooks really the same as Acorn now?
Yes. Acorn Stairlifts acquired Brooks Stairlifts in 2016 and the two brands have been one company since. The Brooks 130 T700 and the Acorn 130 T700 are the same physical lift — same mechanism, same batteries, same rail, built in the same factory. The only difference is which badge was fitted at the end of the production line. Both are worth the same £250 to us.
Why do you specifically want the T700 model?
The T700 is the current-generation lift in the Brooks/Acorn range. Families in Merseyside come to us wanting reconditioned stairlifts for their own homes, and T700s are the model they want. Supply is tight — we pay a fair cash price (£250) because every T700 we buy becomes a reconditioned install for another local family at £1,300 fitted. The classic Brooks 130 still has a market but at lower rates (£200). Older models are collection-only or chargeable.
How do I know if I have a T700 and not a classic Brooks?
Three quick checks: (1) T700 sticker on the underside of the carriage — tip the seat up or crouch down and look under the main body of the chair, the sticker should clearly say “T700”. The arm doesn’t have any model marking — that’s a common mistake. (2) Modern paddle control on the arm, swivel seat, fold-flat footrest. (3) Fitted from 2020 onwards. If any apply, you have a T700. Still not sure? Call 0151 314 4884 and send a photo — Chris confirms within 10 minutes.
What if the stairlift doesn't work any more?
Depends on what failed. A dead battery is not a problem — we replace batteries anyway, so a non-working T700 is still worth £150. If the motor or circuit board has failed and the lift won’t move at all, we still take it for parts: usually £100–£150 depending on condition. If it is physically damaged or missing major parts, we offer £50 plus free removal rather than leave you to pay a scrap merchant.
How quickly can you collect?
Standard turnaround is 3–5 working days from your first call. Same-day or next-day collection is possible in genuine urgency — bereavement, house completion, hospital discharge where you need the stairs clear for a care package. We work around your schedule. Call Chris to discuss.
Do I have to be at home for the collection?
Someone needs to be at the property to let us in and sign a short receipt. It does not need to be the owner — a family member, neighbour, solicitor, or estate agent is fine. We can also meet an executor at a probate property outside normal hours by arrangement.
Do you take the rail as well as the chair?
Yes, always. The rail is just as valuable as the chair — often more so, because custom rails cost us a lot to replace. We remove everything: chair, rail, remote controls, charger, instruction manual if you have it. You get your staircase back exactly as it was before fitting.
Can I sell it myself on Facebook or eBay for more?
Possibly, but weigh the hassle. Online you need to list it, field 20 messages from people who vanish, meet strangers, arrange collection, and risk no-shows. Our £250 is cash, same day, zero chase. People sometimes get a bit more on marketplaces, but it typically takes 2–6 weeks and a lot of ignored calls. Your call.
