Stairlift Installation FAQs
How quickly can you install a stairlift?
For straight reconditioned stairlifts, same-day or next-day installation is often possible — call us first thing and we will do our best to survey and fit on the same day. Brand-new straight stairlifts can also be fitted same-day or next-day if the model is in stock with the manufacturer; otherwise 1–2 weeks. Curved stairlifts require a custom-manufactured rail and typically take 2–4 weeks from survey to install.
Do you fit stairlifts for hospital discharge?
Yes, we regularly install stairlifts urgently for families facing hospital discharge, post-surgery recovery, or sudden mobility changes. Call 0151 314 4884 as early in the day as possible — same-day fitting is often achievable for straight stairlifts (recon or new, subject to stock), and we charge no urgency premium.
How much does a stairlift installation cost?
Reconditioned stairlifts from £1,100 fully installed. Brand-new straight stairlifts from £1,895. New curved stairlifts from £4,500. The installation, full safety testing, demonstration, 12-month warranty and 24/7 breakdown support are all included — no hidden charges.
How long does the installation itself take?
Most straight stairlifts can be installed in 2–4 hours. Curved stairlifts take a little longer — typically half a day to a full day — because of the custom rail and the staircase complexity. The installation never requires you to leave the property.
Do you damage the staircase during installation?
No. Stairlifts are fitted directly to the treads (stair surfaces), not the wall or the banister. There is no drilling into walls, no structural work, no decoration damage. If the lift is later removed, the small fixing holes in the treads are barely visible and can be filled.
Do you install new stairlifts or only reconditioned?
Both. While reconditioned is our most popular option (best value, full warranty, identical safety standards), we also supply and install brand-new stairlifts from all major UK manufacturers including Stannah, Acorn, Brooks, Bison and Bede. We will quote both side by side.
Do you fit hinged rails?
Yes — we fit manual hinged rails as standard on any installation where the staircase ends close to a doorway, hallway opening or other walking route. The hinge folds the lower section of the rail up and out of the way when not in use, eliminating trip hazards.
Which areas do you cover for stairlift installation?
We cover Liverpool, Merseyside, Cheshire, Greater Manchester and the wider North West. Towns include Bootle, Crosby, Southport, Birkenhead, Wallasey, Kirkby, Huyton, St Helens, Widnes, Runcorn, Warrington, Chester, Ellesmere Port, Wigan, Manchester, Ormskirk and many more. See our full list at Locations or call to confirm we cover your postcode.
Will I get a warranty on my installation?
Yes. Every stairlift we install — new or reconditioned — comes with a 12-month parts & labour warranty as standard, plus 24/7 breakdown response. The first 6-month service is included free of charge. Extended warranties are available after the first year.
Do you do weekend and emergency installations?
Yes, weekend and emergency installations are available on request. We understand mobility crises do not wait until Monday — if you need a stairlift fitted out of standard hours for an urgent reason, call us and we will accommodate where possible.
