A professionally reconditioned lift typically saves 40–60% against new, with the safety-critical parts inspected and replaced. It is why our prices start at £1,100 rather than £1,800+.
Longer flights need more rail. A manual folding hinge (fitted when a doorway sits at the foot of the stairs) adds fabrication work — we include it in your written quote upfront, never as a surprise.
Powered swivel seats, powered footrests and premium upholstery all add cost on new lifts. On reconditioned models the spec is fixed, which keeps the price low and predictable.

Why do curved stairlifts cost so much more than straight ones?
The rail. A straight lift uses standard rail cut to length; a curved staircase needs a rail custom-engineered to follow every bend, which is skilled fabrication. That is also why curved lifts take 2–4 weeks while a stocked straight lift can be fitted next working day.
What is the cheapest way to get a stairlift?
A professionally reconditioned straight stairlift. Our £1,100 Acorn/Brooks 130 goes through a four-step workshop process — strip-down, worn-part replacement including batteries, deep clean, load test — and carries the same 12-month parts and labour warranty as everything we fit. Cheaper routes (private sales, online marketplaces) usually cost more once fitting, batteries and an inspection are added, and come with no warranty at all.
Do you charge for surveys, quotes or call-outs?
