Some more complex staircases (double bends, half-landings, particularly long runs) cost more — you get a fixed written price after your free home survey.
What exactly is reconditioned on the Stannah 260?
The full carriage: seat, motor, gearbox, controls, safety edge sensors, footrest, arms. Worn parts are replaced, brand-new batteries fitted, and the whole unit is rig-tested on our workshop staircase before it comes anywhere near your house.
Is the rail also reconditioned?
No — and this is important. Curved rails are fabricated to fit one specific staircase and cannot be reused elsewhere. Your rail is made brand-new by Stannah in the UK to your survey measurements. That is why the 2–4 week lead time is genuine and not padding.
How long does a Stannah 260 take to install?
